It all started in the early 70s, 1972 to be exact, when two Henrico County music teachers decided to open up a pet-care facility. Their love for cats and dogs is what drove them to create a resort just for pets — and Holiday Barn Pet Resorts was born! Our original location is located in Glen Allen, VA and in the late 70’s we opened a new location south of the James River. In 2015, we replaced the Southside location with a brand new, ultra luxurious resort just off Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond, VA. Our pet boarding, grooming, and training facilities have grown over the years to include beautiful cat condominiums, an in-ground swimming pool, and so much more.

The fact of the matter is that we wouldn’t be here celebrating 50 years without your love and support over the past five decades and our team is eternally grateful for you and your furry family members!

For our 50th Anniversary, Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is inviting our favorite pet pals and furry friends to spread the love for Holiday Barn on social media by using the hashtag #Happy50thHolidayBarn. If you and your pet have a picture, a warm memory, or something kind to say about your experience with Holiday Barn, please share your story on social media and tag us—and don’t forget to include #Happy50thHolidayBarn!
