When training your dog, it is important to remember the benefits of high-quality dog food and treats to ensure your dog is getting appropriate protein and nutrients.
The kind of food you choose for your dog should be based on your dog’s specific needs. If your pup needs to shed a few pounds, look for low-fat formulas that are rich in protein to help build lean muscle. Or if your dog has ear, skin or coat issues, look for foods that are rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids to strengthen the immune system and provide prebiotics for healthy digestion.
Additionally, consider your dog’s age when searching for the perfect food and treats. Most brands provide different formulas for puppies, adults, and older dogs, so make sure you’ve chosen a food that is appropriate for your dog.
While training for the Richmond SPCA Dog Jog, Bogart likes to snack on Annamaet’s Lean Formula, as well as their Salcha and Manitok treats.
Does your dog have a favorite snack? Let us know! And don’t forget to follow Bogart’s Build-Up to the Richmond SPCA Dog Jog!
