Customer Experience Associates ensure that positive relationships are developed and maintained with our furry guests and their owners! Customer Experience Associates provide the critical face-to-face interaction with our clients and have the opportunity to help customers choose the best services for their pets, decide on fun playtime activities, how to “beautify” their pets, and schedule vacation stays.

Holiday Barn is a high volume pet resort, with the opportunity to talk with many customers about their pets on a daily basis. Candidates for this position must be able to take care of all arrival and departure procedures of our guests, meet and greet our customers in a friendly and professional manner, resolve customer issues and account discrepancies, have the ability to multi-task and handle with ease a high volume of phone calls in a fast paced environment. Customer Experience Associate Support/Runner

We are looking for a part-time Customer Experience Associate Support/Runners for both our Glen Allen and South of the James locations. Customer Experience Associates ensure that positive relationships are developed and maintained with our furry guests and their owners! Holiday Barn is a high volume pet resort, with the opportunity to work with many pets on a daily basis. Candidates for this position must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk frequently, and the ability to lift pets up to 30lbs. We represent Holiday Barn through telephone conversations, face-to-face, on tours, and even at pet related events. Customer Experience Associates are an intuitive part of our “pack” and work within our company’s values and brand experience. Runners interact with customers and are one of the first friendly faces our guests see when they come into our lobby. Our Runners are an important part of our Customer Experience Pack. Our front desk associates rely on our Runners to keep our lobbies squeaky clean and guide our guests to and from their lodging areas.

Customer Experience Pack Leader


Full-time Position

We are looking for a Customer Experience Pack Leader for our Glen Allen location. The Customer Experience Pack Leader ensures that positive communication and representation of our company is maintained so that we can consistently provide high level services for our furry guests. The focus day-to-day is on driving the best customer service experience at each point of contact, but we realize that this success happens well before the customer arrives at our business. The customer experience “pack” is a large group, with eight to twelve front-end associates and five to seven department leaders throughout the company. Our customer experience leader is an intuitive part of our “pack” and integrates our Holiday Barn values into all customer interaction points throughout all departments.

Candidates should possess the following talents: Individuals who thrive on interacting with people and their pets, providing a high level of service and enjoy looking for growth opportunities. Proven success in managing a customer experience team is a must and the ability to consistently train and grow this department within our company’s goals. Leadership skills are also a must; we are a “pack” work environment, therefore we need individuals who can work with our leadership team and be a leader within the customer experience department. Basic pet knowledge – we don’t expect you to be a dog or cat expert, but to have some pet experience is very helpful. Flexibility – we are a resort business, therefore candidates must be ready to work full time, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities

  • Build customer confidence by making every visit positive, engaging, knowledgeable and reassuring.
  • Help Holiday Barn realize our opportunities, focus on the day-to-day, but always keep an eye on future goals.
  • Learn and be able to provide necessary training and mentoring to our Customer Experience “pack” to achieve our goals and work within our company values.
  • The ability to monitor company performance and initiate recommendations to our Customer Experience Director, Facility Manager and Head of the Pack on solutions.
  • Working in conjunction with the Customer Experience Director ensuring that our customers and guests are receiving the best customer service at every interaction.
  • Have fun! We get to play with dogs and cats every day at one of Richmond’s oldest and largest pet resorts.
  • Ensure the needs of the pet are recognized, services matched to need, and the experience is successful.
  • Ability to schedule pack members according to needs of the business, based on positions needed to provide adequate service for Furrmazing customer experience, while controlling staffing expenses, to be within company guidelines.
  • Ordering of supplies on a monthly basis.
  • Successfully manage the Physical Brochure of customer access areas. Ensure pack is assigned duties to maintain the entrance, customer areas (including bathrooms), the parking lot, and that they are maintained for a furrmazing experience for the customer and pets.
  • This workplace is typified as moderately physically demanding – lots of walking, dogs barking, lifting of pets up to 50 lbs, handling active pets, working with cleaning chemicals, pet related allergens.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in customer service with the ability to wow the customer.
  • A love of dogs and pets and desire to provide outstanding service to our guests and customers.
  • Ability to provide excellence in service to both internal and external customers.
  • Data entry skills and proficiency with Windows environments on computers.
  • Proven success with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience in a service industry with proven team leader success.

Maintenance Technician


Full-time Position

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Southside location. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with their Facility Manager as well as the Head of the Pack to achieve objectives and goals of the individual facility and the betterment of our company.

The responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician for Holiday Barn Pet Resorts include:

  • Integrate with leadership “pack” and peers to communicate necessary facility needs.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance needs.
  • Advise Facility Manager and/or “Head of the Pack” of repair status.
  • Work with Holiday Barn Pack work to maintain the best “Physical Brochure” possible.
  • Respond to work area problems, asses, and provide timely repairs.
  • Ensure other maintenance employee(s) or service vendors have tools and supplies needed as well as keeping maintenance equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform all other responsibilities assigned by immediate manager.
  • Develop cost savings initiatives.
  • Practice and promote safety procedures in all areas of responsibility and address unsafe work conditions.
  • Inspection of all HVAC and boiler systems, making repairs as needed or utilizing outside company approved contractors for complex repairs.
  • Inspection of all electrical and lighting systems, making repairs as needed or utilizing outside company approved contractors for complex repairs.
  • Assess and help carry out facility landscape needs such as mowing, edging, tree trimming, driveway repair, snow removal, etc. as needed.
  • Resource necessary parts and equipment for repairs and projects.
  • Keep records of repairs and preventative maintenance activities.

Basic Requirements

  • General knowledge of great maintenance practices, standards, and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to facility related problems.
  • Solid understanding of facilities maintenance including environmental and energy systems, painting, HVAC, fire suppression, compressed air systems, minor carpentry and landscape equipment operation.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience.
  • HVAC or electrical certification is a plus, but not necessary if candidate has proven experience in those areas.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Team player.
  • Valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
  • Proven track record of attendance and reliability.
  • Flexibility to respond to “off-hour” emergency situations and facility needs.
  • Walk, stand, bend, pull, push to move objects, pick up and carry items up to 75lbs.

We are looking for part-time Pet Bathers/Brushers for our Glen Allen and Southside locations. Do you love giving dogs and cats soothing baths or helping them feel better with shed treatments? Our grooming departments have given us the opportunity to “beautify” some of Richmond’s most fashionable pets for over 35 years! Our grooming departments bathe and de-matt, provide anti-shedding treatments, anal glad expressions, pedicures and teeth brushing, along with a variety of other “spa” services.

Requirements

      • We will provide training, but graduation from a certified grooming school or other previous training is a plus!
      • Flexibility! We are a resort business, open 7 days a week. Candidates must be able to work a flexible work week, including working major holidays and weekend availability is a must. Candidates must also be willing to help our pack members in other areas of the facility when needed.
      • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment.

Enjoy caring for our vacationing dogs and cats while their human families are on vacation. We are seeking energetic pet lovers that are comfortable working within a fast paced team environment.

Responsibilities

      • Cleaning (always lots of cleaning), feeding, exercising, monitoring health status of pets and pampering our guests with T.L.C.

We are on duty 7 days a week so a flexible schedule must include weekdays, weekends and major holidays. Experience not required. Pet Care Coordinator

We are looking for a Pet Care Coordinator for both our Glen Allen and Southside locations. The Pet Care Coordinator will work closely with the Pet Care Manager and Holiday Barn Management Pack to achieve objectives and goals of the individual facility and the betterment of our company. The Pet Care Coordinator is to be a leader with enthusiasm and encouragement that helps our staff and customers achieve the levels of satisfaction they need.

A Pet Care Coordinator for Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is responsible for:

      • Accountability for the welfare of our furry guests.
      • Help hire, train and supervise staff to maximize our level of service to guests ensuring all Holiday Barn pet care SOP’s are properly executed.
      • This is a hands-on position and you will be required to perform the same tasks as staff as needed.
      • Ability to effectively communicate to facility manager potential pet care issues and opportunities.
      • Assist Pet Care Manager and/or Facility Manager with developing and/or implementing ideas to improve resort operations.
      • Coordinate staff needs among other teams as business trends require, such as grooming or camp.
      • Provide support to other teams, such as grooming, customer care and activities or camp, as needed in absence of their supervisor.
      • Provide clear and constructive feedback to staff regarding work performance and deliver realistic expectations and appraisal of work performance.
      • Act as a “Pack” leader and communicate effectively with the staff.
      • Handle customer issues and opportunities in professional manner.
      • Ability to open and close facility.
      • Have an understanding of all facility operations to keep facility running efficiently and safely for our guests and employees.

Some of our job requirements

      • Two years supervisory experience, including experience supervising a large staff.
      • Vet tech degree/certification.
      • Two years vet tech experience in the animal care field.
      • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding position.
      • Availability to work all major holidays and work a rotating schedule that includes weekends.
