Customer Experience Associate

We are looking for part-time Customer Experience Associates at our Glen Allen and Southside locations. Customer Experience Associates ensure that positive relationships are developed and maintained with our furry guests and their owners! Customer Experience Associates provide the critical face-to-face interaction with our clients and have the opportunity to help customers choose the best services for their pets, decide on fun playtime activities, how to “beautify” their pets, and schedule vacation stays.

Holiday Barn is a high volume pet resort, with the opportunity to talk with many customers about their pets on a daily basis. Candidates for this position must be able to take care of all arrival and departure procedures of our guests, meet and greet our customers in a friendly and professional manner, resolve customer issues and account discrepancies, have the ability to multi-task and handle with ease a high volume of phone calls in a fast paced environment. Customer Experience Associates are an intuitive part of our “pack” and work within our company’s values and brand experience.

Basic Requirements

  • A person who thrives on interacting with people and their pets.
  • Basic pet knowledge – we don’t expect you to be an expert, but some pet experience is beneficial.

Day Care Associate

Part-time Positions
Hiring at Southside

Have fun with the dogs! This position requires supervising doggie play groups, interacting with the pooches and observing behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Handling of dogs.
  • Setting up of camp area.
  • Daily cleaning.
  • Ability to work outdoors in good and bad weather.

Day Care Coordinator


Full-time Position
Hiring at Glen Allen & South of the James

We have opportunities for a Full-Time Day Care Coordinator at both our Glen Allen and Southside locations. The Day Care Coordinator ensures that day care operations are maintained during each shift so that we can consistently provide high level services for our furry guests. The focus of the Day Care Coordinator is to ensure that the health, safety, and happiness of the day care guests are exceptional. This person will be responsible for grouping dogs by size and temperament, and delegating daily tasks to day care counselors. This Holiday Barn coordinator is considered a hands-on employee within the department and company. They will work closely with the Day Care Manager and/or others within the pack to provide premier care and service to our guests.

The responsibilities of a Day Care Coordinator for Holiday Barn Pet Resorts include:

  • Act as a pack player and communicate effectively with internal staff and management.
  • Complete any day care counselor duties as outlined in the Day Care Standard Operating Procedures, as well as perform any duties listed on daily checklists.
  • Monitor groups during play under the guidelines stated in the SOPs, following any and all safety guidelines and procedures such as evaluations, altercation protocol, extreme weather, etc.
  • Successfully coordinate groups by size and temperament of dogs to ensure absolute safety.
  • Monitor any behavioral issues with dogs during play and take necessary action. This includes filling out incident reports, noting incidents in the computer, and notifying any manager of immediate action that needs to be taken. In an instance where a dog needs to visit the vet, you must be willing and able to take them to the vet hospital
  • Monitor the well-being of dogs during play and making decisions on what is best for the dog when any illness is present. In an instance where a dog needs to visit the vet, you must be willing and able to take them to the vet hospital
  • Complete entire dog evaluation process, beginning with talking to customer at drop-off.
  • Follow up with customers about evaluation processes, minor behavior concerns, and refer the customer to the trainer when you feel necessary
  • Ability to communicate with the Day Care Manager about current and potential issues.
  • Ability to open and close the facility.
  • Fully understand Holiday Barn’s 5 values and demonstrate them on a daily basis.
  • In conjunction with the Day Care Manager, the coordinator must be able to efficiently sustain and support each shift, and delegate responsibilities as needed. The coordinator must also make sure that all day care staff are abiding by the day care SOPs, ensure that all pack members take scheduled breaks, and resolve day care issues appropriately (sometimes this may require a manager, in which case the coordinator will be responsible for communication with manager about said issue.)

Basic Requirements

  • Provide a working knowledge of dog behavior.
  • Possess a reliable, positive attitude.
  • Have the ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Complete the Dog Gurus Dog Language 101 and Group Play 201 classes, and related coursework, provided on-site.
  • Complete the Pet Care Technician test, provided on-site.

Pet Bather/Brusher


Part-time Positions
Hiring at South of the James

We are looking for part-time Pet Bathers/Brushers for our Southside location. Do you love giving dogs and cats soothing baths or helping them feel better with shed treatments? Our grooming departments have given us the opportunity to “beautify” some of Richmond’s most fashionable pets for over 35 years! Our grooming departments bathe and de-matt, provide anti-shedding treatments, anal glad expressions, pedicures and teeth brushing, along with a variety of other “spa” services.

Requirements

  • We will provide training, but graduation from a certified grooming school or other previous training is a plus!
  • Flexibility! We are a resort business, open 7 days a week. Candidates must be able to work a flexible work week, including working major holidays and weekend availability is a must. Candidates must also be willing to help our pack members in other areas of the facility when needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Ability to bathe, dry, de-matt, and finish pets in a professional manner.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, with frequent walking and ability to lift larger dogs.

Enjoy caring for our vacationing dogs and cats while their human families are on vacation. We are seeking energetic pet lovers that are comfortable working within a fast paced team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning (always lots of cleaning), feeding, exercising, monitoring health status of pets and pampering our guests with T.L.C.

We are on duty 7 days a week so a flexible schedule must include weekdays, weekends and major holidays. Experience not required. If you are a responsible, energetic and hard working pet lover, we will provide training. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Pet Care Coordinator


Full-time Position

We are looking for a Pet Care Coordinator for our Glen Allen location. The Pet Care Coordinator will work closely with the Pet Care Manager and Holiday Barn Management Pack to achieve objectives and goals of the individual facility and the betterment of our company. The Pet Care Coordinator is to be a leader with enthusiasm and encouragement that helps our staff and customers achieve the levels of satisfaction they need.

A Pet Care Coordinator for Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is responsible for:

  • Accountability for the welfare of our furry guests.
  • Help hire, train and supervise staff to maximize our level of service to guests ensuring all Holiday Barn pet care SOP’s are properly executed.
  • This is a hands-on position and you will be required to perform the same tasks as staff as needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to facility manager potential pet care issues and opportunities.
  • Assist Pet Care Manager and/or Facility Manager with developing and/or implementing ideas to improve resort operations.
  • Coordinate staff needs among other teams as business trends require, such as grooming or camp.
  • Provide support to other teams, such as grooming, customer care and activities or camp, as needed in absence of their supervisor.
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to staff regarding work performance and deliver realistic expectations and appraisal of work performance.
  • Act as a “Pack” leader and communicate effectively with the staff.
  • Handle customer issues and opportunities in professional manner.
  • Ability to open and close facility.
  • Have an understanding of all facility operations to keep facility running efficiently and safely for our guests and employees.

Basic Requirements

  • Proven success and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience and ability to supervise a large staff to meet goals and expectations.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding position.
  • Courses in animal care, or experience in the animal care field, are a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to work on ALL major holidays, and be available to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends.
